Dr. Robert Agree Practices Sports Medicine at the Trinity Medical Center
Dr. Robert Agee, Jr. attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and
Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He trained in family practice
at the UCSF-Fresno medical residency program and completed a Sports Medicine
fellowship in Birmingham at the American Sports Medicine Institute, which
was co-founded by sports medicine pioneer Dr. Lawrence Lemak.
Dr. Agee is a fellowship trained sports medicine physician who has experience
caring for athletes and performers around the world. Prior to coming to
Birmingham, he was the chief of Primary Care Sports Medicine at Kaiser
Permanente in California, and worked as a team physician for the University of
California at Berkeley where he covered various intercollegiate team sports, and
most notably was the head team physician for the National Champion Cal Rugby
Team.
Dr. Agee is recognized as one of the leading resources for primary care sports
medicine having spoken at national and international conferences and meetings.
He has been published in scientific journals and quoted in popular press
including Ebony magazine, Fox News and ESPN Sports Radio.
