Elton B. Stephens

Elton B. Stephens (1911-2005) was  long time resident of Birmingham and a great entrepreneur and philanthropist. He founded the EBSCO group of companies, a conglomerate dealing with numerous industries such as academic journals to real estate.

The busy road that joins Downtown Birmingham  to Homewood and Mountain Brook is named after him as Elton B. Stephens Expressway.
